Guelph – Being new to Canada can be very challenging as newcomers must adapt to a different culture, language, work standards and job market. 

Royal Bank of Canada has provided $150,000 of funding that will help children and youth struggling with their mental health in Waterloo Region. The funds will be used to help organizations providing children’s mental health programs, to install software that will help staff accurately and consistently assess the needs of children and youth.

On Sunday May 7, more than 600 members of the community gathered at Lutherwood’s Children’s Mental Health Centre to talk about children’s mental health and raise funds for children’s mental health programs. 

Parents for Children’s Mental Health is seeking input from caregivers who have received child and youth mental health services in Waterloo Region over the past 2 years. Your thoughts will help inform the planning of future child and youth mental health services in the Region.

Waterloo - Lutherwood’s annual fundraising event, Steps for Kids will take place at Lutherwood’s Children’s Mental Health Centre on Sunday, May 7th. All proceeds raised will support specialized mental health programs that are a critical part of the treatment plan for children at Lutherwood.
