Training and Apprenticeship Opportunities

Whether you are looking to re-train or just starting your career, we will help you obtain the skills and training needed to get the job you want.

Better Jobs Ontario

(formerly known as Second Career)

This government-funded retraining program helps laid off, unemployed or under-employed individuals find work in skilled occupations that are in demand in Ontario. Better Jobs Ontario funding may cover the costs of tuition, books, living expenses and other costs associated with the training up to a maximum of $28,000. The training:

  • can be up to 52 weeks
  • can be occupation specific
  • can include academic upgrading or language training if part of a specific skills training program
  • can be full-time or part-time (additional criteria apply if part-time)

If you are considering a career in the skilled trades, our staff can offer information on available apprenticeship opportunities and programs and help you get started in the process. In partnership with the CLAC Foundation and Herzing College, we also offer pre-apprenticeship training tuition funding to eligible clients who could not otherwise afford the costs of training. Trainings include:
