Eviction Prevention and Last Month’s Rent (Rent Fund)
Lutherwood works within our local housing stability system to help low-income households prevent housing loss due to rent arrears through providing a loan or a grant.
We can also help with a Last Month’s Rent Deposit to secure new housing if eviction cannot be prevented or if you are currently experiencing homelessness. If you are low income, and in need of financial support to prevent an eviction or secure new housing you can reach out (519-749-2450) to discuss options and eligibility.
It is helpful to be aware that there is an eligibility assessment involved when accessing the Rent Fund. The documents below may be requested by your Housing Advisor to help with this assessment. We can also work with you to achieve these documents if you are without:
- Identification
- Proof of tenancy
- Proof of income
- Proof of arrears
*Additional documents may be required by your Housing Advisor in certain circumstances.
Please note: It is important that the tenancy be sustainable based on your current budget in order for the Rent Fund to be considered as a possible option for either last month’s rent or rental arrears requests.
