Substance Use Services
Our Substance Use Services support youth ages 13 to 18 who are experiencing challenges with substance use or may be at risk of future substance use concerns. Using a trauma and attachment-informed approach, we meet youth where they are at and provide individualized treatment focused on harm reduction, safety, and/or abstinence, based on each youth's goals and readiness for change.
Services address both substance use and mental health needs and can be accessed as a stand-alone service or alongside other Starling mental health programs. Supports are responsive to each youth's culture, identity, and lived experience, and participation requires a willingness to engage in the service.
Services include individual counselling, family and caregiver support and education, group interventions, and consultation to Starling staff.
