Thanks to the generosity of our donors, 18 children between the ages of 7 and 12 experienced a summer they’ll never forget at Starling’s Day Camp. More than just a break from routine, our camp helped ease the transition from therapeutic care back to community schools, while giving kids the chance to simply be kids.

Launched in 2007, Apparel Decorating Co. has grown into a vibrant team of 14. But for Adam, the real story isn’t in the headcount, it’s in the heart behind it. He is proud to share that half of his team came through Starling Employment Services, a partnership that reflects the very values his company was founded on. “Starling didn’t just help me hire,” Adam says. “They helped me find amazing people.”

When words fall short, music speaks — and for Liz Mitchell, it’s been a lifelong source of healing. As a Registered Psychotherapist and Certified Music Therapist, Liz helped countless young people at Starling find strength, expression, and connection through music. Her story reminds us how creativity can become a path to hope and recovery.

After more than a decade of homelessness and hardship, Keith finally found stability and hope through Starling’s Housing Services. With support from the Home-Based Support Program, he transitioned into safe housing and began rebuilding his life. “I have a new lease on life,” Keith says — and he's finally living it on his own terms.

At Starling Children’s Mental Health Centre, Elvira arrives early each morning, ready to make a difference in the lives of children and youth experiencing mental health challenges.

We are continually inspired by the dedication and generosity of our community. A touching example comes from two first-year students at Conestoga College, Bella and Kali, whose mutual passion for helping others has made a positive difference for the youth at Safe Haven Youth Services.
