Lutherwood Offers Additional Support for Job Seekers


August 31, 2011 – While students are getting ready to go back to school, thousands of people in Waterloo Region are trying to get back to work. This fall, Lutherwood is offering a series of activities that will introduce people to our free Employment Ontario sponsored services, upgrade their skills and help them get the job that is right for them.

“In today’s economy, job seekers need to be prepared to take advantage of any opportunity that presents itself and we can help,” said Rebecca Roy, Assistant Director Employment Services. “We have more than 25 years of experience helping people find meaningful work. Whether you are looking for training, applying for education funding, starting a business, trying to access the hidden job market, or just want help discovering new work opportunities for your skills in other industries, we have knowledgeable staff who want to help.”

Beginning in September, Lutherwood is holding Get Hired Training Week. During the week of September 19 - 23, various free seminars and workshops are being held in our Kitchener, Cambridge and Guelph locations for registered clients. Topics include using LinkedIn in your job search, computer skills assessments, and Smart Serve and WHMIS training.

Later in the fall, Lutherwood will be launching free employment seminars for the public. Topics will include using social media in your job search and career transitioning in the new economy.
