Summer Walk In Hours

Due to lower demand, Front Door's Saturday Walk-in service will operate on a reduced schedule for the summer months. 

Walk-in will be OPEN as usual on all

  • Tuesdays: 12:00pm - 6:30pm at 35 Dickson St. in Cambridge (Lutherwood)
  • Wednesdays: 12:00pm - 6:30pm at 1770 King St. E. in Kitchener
  • Thursdays: 9:00am - 3:30pm at Langs, 1145 Concession Rd. in Cambridge

and 

  • Saturdays July 7, July 14, July 28, August 11 and August 25 only: 9:00am - 3:30pm at 1770 King St. E. in Kitchener.

Township Services continue to be offered through community partner locations by scheduling an appointment. Click here for more information.

Here are 5 ways you can support your child (and yourself): 1️⃣ Acknowledge Their Feelings: Validate their feelings and encourage open, age-appropriate conversations where they can express their concerns without fear of judgment. 2️⃣ Limit Overexposure to News: Set healthy boundaries for news consumption and choose specific times to check in and focus on credible, balanced sources. 3️⃣ Model Calm Behavior: If you’re feeling overwhelmed, practice self-care strategies that can help both you and your child regulate emotions. (Children take emotional cues from their parents!) 4️⃣ Teach Healthy Coping Strategies: Introduce mindfulness techniques like deep breathing and journaling to help manage stress. 5️⃣ Highlight Positive Stories: Remind your child that amidst difficulties, there are always people working to make the world a better place.
