Lutherwood Aviva Community Project Makes Final Round
Lutherwood is proud to announce that with the incredible support of the community, its submission to the AVIVA Community Funds on-line voting competition propelled it to the semi-final round of 100 projects across Canada.
In early October, 2,000 friends voted 10,000 times to encourage Aviva to grant up to $150,000 to build a Sensory (Snoezelen) Room at Lutherwood’s Children’s Mental Health Centre in Waterloo. Now the organization is asking the community to help it get to the semi-final round by voting for its submission each day starting at noon on Monday December 3 until December 12, 2012.
The Snoezelen room is a sensory experience designed to calm, relax and intrigue children experiencing mental health distress. When complete, it will be available to children at the centre as well as other agencies across the community.
“This will be a fantastic resource that will help children in our community,” said Donna Buchan, Executive Director of Lutherwood Child and Family Foundation. “The competition is very intense and we are very excited to hear from so many friends who are ready to spend just one minute each day for 9 days to help us make the final round where it is up to the judges.”

"I found my employment advisor to be extremely professional. She took the time to review my resume and cover letter, and during our mock interview, she helped bring out skills that I did not see in myself. I am happy to report that I have been successful in my job search."
