ACCESS Youth Program Accepting Applicants


WATERLOO, January 4, 2012 - Lutherwood 's ACCESS program is now accepting applications. ACCESS is designed to help individuals with learning and behavioural challenges between the ages of 15 and 30, find and maintain employment.

Funded by Service Canada, ACCESS offers a comprehensive, three-part process that helps people find and maintain employment. Clients are welcome to take part in any of the parts of the Access program, including:

1. Offering workshops that prepare individuals for full- or part-time employment, including:

  • Employer Expectations
  • Resume Development
  • Interview Skills
  • WHMIS and Emergency First Aid Certifications
  • Budgeting
  • Job Search Basics

2. Assisting with job searches and placement with employers

3. On-the-job coaching supports individuals to seek and maintain employment

Running a business that services hundreds of buildings across Ontario requires a skilled and reliable team. For Cinnamon, Executive Vice President of River Rock Laundry, the Canada-Ontario Job Grant became a strategic solution to strengthen her workforce and support internal growth. River Rock Laundry provides commercial laundry services to more than 600 buildings in Ontario. With such a wide reach, the company depends on its service technicians to keep equipment running smoothly. One of those technicians is Joseph, who joined the team while still in high school and quickly showed initiative and a desire to grow.
