Hope and Health in Employment Uncertainty - Employment Speakers Series Seminar

January 24, 2011 - Lutherwood is hosting its first Speaker Series event on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Cambridge City Hall from 1:00 to 4:00 pm in the Bowman Room. Three local employers will be speaking on the topic of Hope and Health in Employment Uncertainty. While the seminar focusses on people 40 years old and older, anyone is welcome to attend.

Tanya Morrell, owner of Integrated Health Solutions, will provide a first-hand account of her own employment journey and how she has overcome her unemployment and created success in self-employment.

Ryan Jantzi, owner of two successful manufacturing (machining and oil processing) plants in Cambridge, is a dynamic and impressive individual whose enthusiasm is contagious. He will speak about employment success for the older worker and his suggestions to promote health and hope when job searching and within the labour market.

Greg Durocher, Cambridge Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, a highly energetic motivational speaker and business professional, will speak about his role as a liaison with employers within Cambridge and North Dumfries and provide an account of what employers are saying about hiring the older worker. His optimistic outlook of employment within Cambridge and the surrounding area is insightful, realistic and hopeful.

The Speaker Series event is one of hope and encouragement to those affected by the ever changing economy and labour market. Experienced workers seeking employment face unique challenges. These speakers are leaders within ourcommunity who can relate to these challenges and will help those in attendance find hope and positive ways to manage the stress of job seeking.

“Volunteering at Lutherwood’s Children’s Mental Health Services solidified my desire to work with children and adolescents for the rest of my life. I left my first day of volunteering and called my mom to let her know that I’ve found my passion and I am SO grateful for the opportunity to pursue my passion volunteering at Lutherwood.”
